Dear Parents,
The final days of TJJ 2015 were probably the most memorable of the entire trip.
On Monday, after enjoying a crawl through the caves outside the city of Beit Shemesh and a movie at Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem, we all got ready and dressed for Yom NCSY. Yom NCSY was awesome! The concert, food and fireworks surprised everyone and left imprints in the teens’ memories for a lifetime. It was amazing to be there with over 1500 people of one organization namely NCSY in Israel.
On our last touring day, we had the privilege of being guided by Rabbi Goldfischer, the Director amd Founder of all TJJ, at Mount Herzl. Focusing on the heroes of the Jewish people who gave their lives for the land and state at the end of our trip provided a profound message to the teens as they leave the land. Who will be the heroes of this generation!
We then shopped before getting ready for our final banquet where awards, laughs and memories were shared.
We ended the trip at the Western Wall with singing and dancing and an opportunity for everyone to share their feelings to the group. It was so moving! The final program was a letter writing initiative where everyone wrote letters to themselves about their feelings now which we will mail to them over the course of the year to remind them of their experience.
Saying goodbye was very difficult at the airport this morning but we are all looking forward to being in touch in the future.
Thank you so much for giving my staff and myself the opportunity to work with your amazing children! May you all enjoy their stories, lessons and memories and hopefully we can all be together again soon.
All the best
R David Zahtz
