Dear Parents,
After our long day yesterday, our group enjoyed a tour and history of the ancient holy city of Safed. Our tour guide, Rabbi Eli Migdal, taught us the stories about Dov Gruner, Rav Isaac Luria and Pizza Shelly miracle. We heard ancient instruments professionally played and met with Avraham Lowenthal, a kabbalist artist. From there we enjoyed a interactive learning experience at Otzar Hastam where we learned how different scrolls are made and written. Lastly we finished up with a visit to the grave of the founder of the kabala, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron. It was a fascinating day that gave the TJJers a sense of appreciation and understanding of the roots of our people.
