Dear Parents
As we moved towards the south of the country, we stopped at a few destinations. First, we stopped in the Kibbutz of the Ghetto Fighters and went into one of their museums called Yad Layeled (A Hand to a Child). Yad Layeled is a museum dedicated to he children of the Warsaw ghetto and the Holocaust. It was a unique experience for our TJJers to hear and listen to the horrific stories from the children’s perspective.
We are approaching the month of Av which is the month where history has been giving us difficult times and to learn about these events is important to understand our heritage better.
From there we went to Caesaria and learned about the ruins and city of old and even put on our own little concert in the Roman Theatre. Finally, before we reached our destination in Ein Tzurim, we went to hear the story of a tremendous supporter of TJJ and NCSY, Mr. Yossi Stechler and his wife at their home in Zichron Yaakov. It was so interesting and enjoyable for the teens to meet with them and eat some yummy treats.
All the best
R David Zahtz
