The Anne Samson Jerusalem Journey
NCSY TJJ BUS 3 Independence Hall and Yom NCSY

Dear NCSY TJJ Bus 3 Family,

Shalom from TEL AVIV and JERUSALEM!!!!!!

Monday was an exciting day as we had an opportunity to both see the State of Israel’s beginning, as well as it modern heart.

We visited the Hall of Independence in Tel Aviv, where David Ben Gurion stood in front of the entire world and declared the Jewish State of Israel. We sat in the very room the State was born and we could feel the history echoing from the walls. While at Independence Hall we also had a chance to learn how Tel Aviv flourished from a desert into a thriving metropolis, this illustrated for us both Israeli resolve and innovation. Monday concluded with an opportunity to explore the carmel shuk of Tel Aviv. After two very meaningful and powerful stops, we capped off Thursday by participating in Yom NCSY.  Yom NCSY is an event where every NCSY summer program in Israel (including TJJ, ICE, ICE Israel, JOLT, JOLT Israel, Kollel, Michlelet, GIVE, and BILT) gather together for an evening some BBQ, music, and fun. It was amazing to see over 1,200 teenagers in one place. We enjoyed partaking in the delicious food and music  Everyone also had the a chance to hear from and meet the International Director of NCSY, Rabbi Michah Greenland.  The keynote speaker was Miriam Peretz who shared with us about her sons and how she overcame her struggles. We capped of the night with finishing the writing of a torah scroll!!

Looking forward to the restfulness of Shabbat tomorrow night!

Best,

Rabbi Yitz
