Dear Parents,
Yesterday we spent the day learning about the State of Israel’s inception at Independence Hall in Tel Aviv and then learned about the events the took place in Rabin Square some years ago. We discussed the peace process and some of the views at the time to give the teens an understanding for the current feelings towards the peace process and the rift in he Jewish people regarding it.
Afterwards, we experienced something that I think will stay with the teens forever. We went to Save a Child’s Heart which is where Israel takes children from other countries that need heart surgeries and they are attended to and cared for at no expense. The teens played with the kids and held the babies. It was an experience that showed the power and beauty of the Jewish people and the Jewish State.
Today, we said goodbye for the weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back Sunday morning.
Shabbat Shalom
